Apache Axis2 项目开发小组宣布发布 Apache Axis2 1.0 版本.

Apache Axis是Apache WebService 的子项目，其核心是一个SOAP 处理器，用于开发包括客户端，服务器端，SOAP Gateway 等各种应用。Axis2 是由开源组织Apache 开发的web service 框架Axis 的升级产品。

新版本,不仅支持SOAP 1.1 和 SOAP 1.2, 同时提供了对REST 地整合. 新版本的Axis2 更高效率以及更面向XML.

关于新版本,官方提到:

Apache Axis2 not only supports SOAP 1.1 and SOAP 1.2, but it also has integrated support for the widely popular REST style of Web services: the same business logic implementation can offer both a WS-* style interface as well as a REST style interface simultaneously. Apache Axis2 is more efficient, more modular and more XML-oriented than the older version
